Consumer Complaint: I made a fraud claim on my account and spoke to the multiple times and was told to fax in documentation on a claim before they received the written documents they had closed my claim causing another period of investigation. Not even a day later. Everytime I call in Im transfer atleast 4 times and no one knows my information which is provided each time but no provided to the next person.

Consumer Complaint: I changed banks from Bank of America to XXXX on XXXX of XX/XX/2023. I called the National number for Social Security and made the change. The change did not go through, and was told to call the local office. I did and the information was updated. When I called Bank of America, they found out that the 10 day closing hold on the account had not happened and it would be expedited. That was on Tuesday, XX/XX/2023. The hold was removed on XX/XX/2023. I was told that they would be sending me a check for the left over balance of {$57.00} and the SSI check in the amount of {$910.00} for a total of {$970.00}. I got this from one person. The next one told me they would be sending the check back to Social Security. Then another person told me that a check has been sent out for the {$57.00}, but the SSI check has been sent back to Social Security. That was as of Wednesday according to the man I spoke with with today, and the {$57.00} has been sent out in the form of a check, he wasn't sure what was going on with the SSI check. He doesn't even have record of a Social Security check coming to them at all. Social Security has yet to receive, any thing from Bank of America and Bank of America keep giving me the run around about it or where it's coming from, another keeps telling it has been sent back to Social Security. They have done something with my SSI check and won't give me a straight answer as to what they've done with it. I need this money, and Bank of America isn't giving me anything to go with.

Consumer Complaint: I took a vacation to a XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/2023 but did not get a hard copy receipt ; they told me the amount and said they would email it to me. When I finally received my bill on my Bank of America VISA is was over {$500.00} more than I was told by XXXX. I immediately contacted BOA to dispute this amount. I was unable to get a hold of this motel when I made reservations and again when I contacted them again about my bill. In my dispute I asked BOA to get me a copy of the bill. I gave BOA a copy of what I had paid initially ( {$2000.00} for my complete stay on XX/XX/2023 ). When I received a partial bill summary from BOA it showed that I had actually overpaid {$730.00}, being charged twice on one full day and twice for parking on the one day ( my car never left the garage ). BOA still declined my request writing : " You were unable to provide us with a copy of the original sales slip or other documentation indicating that the merchant charged the incorrect amount. '' BOA was EXTREMNELY difficult to deal with, transferring me up to 5 times to find the correct person to provide any help.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I have filed a complaint against Bank of America for opening an unauthorized card in my name. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX In the end, Bank of America admitted that the employee opened a card in my name without my permission as the recording showed that I declined on 5 different occasions. However, the supervisor had the card closed out at the credit XXXXXXXX XXXX with the false statement that client ( me ) requested the card to be closed, while i never ordered a card so that should have been closed out as Bank of America unauthorized opening a card in my name. That caused my credit score to drop down by XXXX points resulting in higher interest charge for a mortgage I was going to apply for and ended up not getting due to the additional cost. But i got a private loan instead. I have spent today almost 2.5 hours and have been transferred numerous times to the wrong department to see if I'm included in the compensation that Bank of America is ordered to pay out for unauthorized credit card and other wrong doings. Since even the 4th transfer was to the wrong department, I felt I have no other choice than to file a complaint as I don't have all day to try to speak to the right department. Please have Bank of America reach out to me. I have the complaints that were filed through this website on file, and they are showing that what I'm communicating is correct.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Bank of America due to a significant error they made that resulted in marking me as late on my account. My name is XXXX XXXX XXXX, and I am using this platform to address this issue. The incident revolves around an oversight on the bank 's part regarding the update of my address on my loan account. Despite correctly updating my bank account addresses online and at the branch after I relocated, my loan account address was not modified accordingly. Consequently, I did not receive any notices or communication from them regarding my account. I moved to my new residence some time ago and promptly updated my address both online and at a local BOA branch. While they successfully updated my checking accounts, regrettably, my car loan account address remained unchanged. I possess statements for my bank account that accurately display the updated address, in contrast to the auto loan account which still reflects the old, incorrect address. Furthermore, even the old address listed on the car loan account lacks my apartment number due to their oversight. I've attached copies of the bank statement which show the updated address. This situation has caused me significant distress, as its repercussions have had a substantial impact on various aspects of my life. Throughout my history as a customer, I have consistently upheld my responsibility and made timely payments. The gravity of this error has translated into several adverse consequences that are severely affecting both my personal and financial well-being. These consequences encompass impediments in obtaining home approvals, a considerable loss of valuable time, XXXX XXXX and resulting XXXX, as well as marital discord stemming from my inability to refinance my existing home. I kindly request a swift and thorough investigation into this matter, along with the necessary rectifications to address the damage caused. I believe in the integrity of Bank of America and hope that this issue can be resolved in a manner that restores my faith in your institution

Consumer Complaint: Bank Of America been with them for 30 years and Ive constantly was charged for things. I didnt do transactions that they let come in late just so that they can charge me late fees now my mother has passed away and I have total guardianship why I was taken care of her and I did close her Bank of America accounts, and then they took three weeks to release her fines even with the court documents in XXXX certificates which caused financial devastation with my family in proceeding to bury her. Consumer Complaint: My husband died in XXXX of XXXX and so I bought some property in XXXX of XXXX and I allowed a family friend and his fiance to move in with me under the guise that they were helping me get some of my rental properties available to rent out so I could have some income coming in over the course of about three weeks both of these family friends stole my debit card numerous times and used my banking information to open cash app accounts in my name and send themselves money they then stole my phone and the girl was acting like me to the bank he was swiping my card at random places in a different state and then coming back putting my card back on my counter I was not even made aware of this until my lights got shut off at my rental property and it threw me for a loop because there should have been plenty of money in that account and when I looked the account was empty and it was because he and her had been draining the account steadily over a three-week period of time so I immediately notified my bank and told them what was going on I immediately went over every single transaction with them on the phone let them know that I would be contacting law enforcement and would pursue from there this was in the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX Bank of America took the maximum allotted time to deny my claim two times in a row I filed my first request for reconsideration on XX/XX/XXXX and it read as follows I'm writing this letter in regards to claim number XXXX that was filed on XX/XX/XXXX for the amount of {$7400.00} and I'm asking you guys to review your decision to not pay the claim based on the fact that as soon as I got off the phone with you guys on the XXXX of XXXX I then contacted the XXXX County Sheriff 's Department to file a police report with them because my card was taken and used on numerous occasions spending over whole month of XXXX without my permission I've been immediately informed the police of the names of the people involved I know for a fact they did this because they were on camera using my card at a store in another state with me not present I then went on to explain everything I just mentioned previously I have reviewed the transactions and I am actively working with the Sheriff 's Department to pursue charges against both of these individuals to the fullest extent of the law would that being said I did provide you guys with the original case number on the XXXX of XXXX when I called back and it should be in the notes about my case so I will not include it here but please reconsider this claim because this is crazy if you guys have any more questions or comments or concerns please do not hesitate to get in touch with me thank you after I sent that note on XX/XX/XXXX Bank of America then took 90 days to deny the claim a second time and so then on XX/XX/XXXX, after receiving no response from Bank of America for months I've been received the response that it was denied again it just said unable to pay they did not ever provide me any reason why they denied the claim so here we are now going on six months out that I had almost {$8000.00} stolen from me the one of the people is passed away that is responsible for this the other one is on the run I have fully cooperated with law enforcement I have fully cooperated with anyone who's ever asked me anything about it Bank of America seems to be the only people who do not realize that I'm the victim of a criminal act the second layer letter that I finally sent on XX/XX/XXXX read as follows I'm writing to express my deep concern and disagreement with the recent decisions made regarding my claim for fraudulent transactions amounting in over {$7000.00} it is my understanding based on our previous correspondences that my claim has been denied twice I strongly believe that this decision needs to be reviewed considering the circumstances and evidence that I have provided during a five week. I was the victim of unauthorized transactions using my debit card these fraudulent activities were committed by an individual who was living with me at the time these individuals had unauthorized access to my phone and my pin number but I wan na make it clear that at no point did I ever get permission for this individual or anyone else to use my card or access my personal account details the discovery of this fraud only occurred when my power bill payment was declined due to insufficient funds as soon as I became aware of these unauthorized transactions I immediately notified your bank and filed a dispute to further address this issue I've also reported this matter to local law enforcement and am fully cooperating with their ongoing investigation I've provided the case number and all pertinent information related to the criminal investigation in previous letters and phone calls to you guys 's field office. Despite my prompt action and willingness to assist in any way possible with Bank of America I'm disappointed that my claim has been rejected yet again adding to my frustration Bank of America took the maximum allowable time to communicate each of these decisions with me resulting in a period of over five months since my initial report of this issue interestingly though I have received merchant credits amounting to {$200.00} this while a relief is only a fraction of the total fraudulent transactions I find it perplexing that the merchant could recognize the fraudulent activity and issue a credit yet my claim was denied by my own bank the financial burden caused by these unauthorized transactions is significant and adds to the personal hardships I am currently facing I lost my husband in XX/XX/XXXX and this incident is added to the load of challenges I am now dealing with I'm struggling to comprehend the denial of my claim especially considering my status as a victim of a criminal act I implore you to reconsider these decisions as they seem incongruous with Bank of America 's commitment to protect its customers and their financial security i request that the person tasked wit ... .ns behind the decision making process.
