Consumer Complaint: I finance a car thru Ally Financial on an 8.44 % rate. However, after reviewing my payments and total I believe they 're taking advantage of me and applying all payment to finance charge. I 've spoke to the rep and she has state they forecast charges therefore I must pay that interest. I was never late on this loan always paid as agreed however for 2016 I paid more in finance charge than what was applied to principal. Now I understand a high interest rate most payment would be applied to interest however on an 8.44 % rate my I should n't have paid more in finance charges than towards my principal. No one can explain this. I feel taken advantage of as a minority an XXXX XXXX Male. I have giving more money towards my payments to pay off early but none of my payments where applied to principal but to interest. I feel abused in this situation.

Consumer Complaint: I do not even have an account with Ally Financial, however the constantly called my cell phone looking for someone by a different name whom I do not know. After being told numerous times they have the wrong number they continued to call and harass me at all times of day. Even told me I was lying to them. Sometimes I would receive XXXX calls from them at the same time. I attempted to contact corporate offices and was told I would receive a call from someone in a couple days approx XXXX month later, I received a call from a blocked number being allied at XXXX in the morning which is illegal, stating they had no record of any calls made to me. Of course this is after I threatened to file a report. They refuse to provide any contact to the legal department and although I have cell phone records of all calls they have deleted all records on their side in a coverup attempt.

Consumer Complaint: Ally Bank currently has XXXX Raise Your Rate CD products - a XXXX CD that allows you to raise your rate once during the life of the product and a XXXX CD that allows you to raise the XXXX twice during the life of the product. Currently, the initial rates for the XXXX and XXXX -yr are XXXX and XXXX, respectively. The reason consumers went into these products was so they did n't get stuck when interest rates started to rise - just as the product was marketed by Ally. Now that interest rates have started to increase neither of these rates has budged. Ally is not being competitive with these rates. Per XXXX, the rate they offer for a XXXX is XXXX best and the rate for their XXXX is XXXX best among banks. What 's most telling is that if I wanted to put {$25000.00} in a XXXX with Ally today they 'd pay me a rate of XXXX for XXXX, but only XXXX for XXXX. From a bank 's perspective, I would think that 's counter-intuitive, but it reflects their rates as of today. Even though the XXXX bond market has a normal yield curve, Ally 's in inverted. I believe they wo n't move the rate on the XXXX and XXXX because customers would exercise their option to increase the rate and Ally does n't want to pay up. They should eliminate this deceptive product. If consumers knew that they never intended, in good faith, to budge on these rates, they would have opted to go for a straight CD that paid a little more, rather than paying for the Raise Your XXXX XXXX option - an option that appears worthless. Take their rates today on the XXXX straight CD, which is XXXX. I get XXXX basis points more for a XXXX shorter term CD than the XXXX CD paying XXXX. If past is prologue, I would n't expect Ally to move the XXXX rate. It does n't appear that they are under any obligation to do so, yet the product exists.
