Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals
Consumer Complaint: I set up an online Ally back account on XX/XX/19. I attempted to deposit a check into the account on XX/XX/19. I received an email stating that the check was missing info on the Pay To : line. I resubmitted the check the same day. I received an email on XX/XX/19 stating that : We weren't able to complete this Ally Bank eCheck DepositSM because of one of the following reasons : The check contains an alteration on the front of the check The check had been previously deposited at another institution The check is from a financial institution located outside of the U.S. Please obtain a new check to scan and submit it as you normally would. The next day I tried to access my account and was told it had been fraud locked. I called the number provided XXXX and waited 45 mins on hold to speak to a Loss Prevention agent. He proceeded to tell me that I was trying to deposit a fake check and they would not be reopening my account. He stated there was nothing I could do and I had to wait until their investigation was over. I waited a week with no response. I called back 3 different times and left messages with no response. I shut by direct deposit off as soon as I realized they were not going to reopen my account. By this time two {$100.00} deposits had been made into the account from my employer. They didn't reject these deposits even though the account was frozen. I now have {$200.00} dollars sitting in a frozen account and the bank is flat refusing to allow me access to my money or even return my phone call.

Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX- Pulled XXXX/XXXX/2018 ( I was not present at the dealership nor did I give consent to pull my credit, I told the sales counselor that I already got approved for a loan and he still decided to shot gun blast my credit with these hard inquiries ) Ally Financial- Pulled duplicate hard inquiry on XX/XX//18 while I was not present at the dealership. I demand that the unauthorized/duplicate inquiry be removed from my credit report. I was told that when my credit was pulled it'd only show as one hard inquiry. I was lied to and coerced by the sales counselor to pull my credit in the first place. As I have said before in the above comment, I was already approve by a company for an auto loan for a good rate. I was promised a better rate that did not take place. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Pulled XXXX/XXXX/2018. I don't even recognize this company let alone did I give authorization to run my credit.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Denied request to lower payments
Consumer Complaint: I purchased this car in XXXX of XXXX brand new. The payment was super high as I had to rollover my old car loan into it. The payment was almost 800 a month. I was able to rewrite the loan XX/XX/XXXX for a easier payment of XXXX a month. I was married at the time and able to afford it. I however became separated early XXXX and then divorced in XX/XX/XXXX I called Ally multiple times to ask for extensions lower payments and even a new loan..I tried to get a different car to get into something I could afford but I was so far behind on payments I was unable to. I love my car and I love my loan company. I have been late with them a few times and they always send me letters to remind me I am late and then it happened 2 times ... The final notice of payment came in mail..I always struggle with finding to pay just the actual amount of the loan and then Seeing the big amount I freak out. I have XXXX babies that rely on me and I need my car. I have put everything into that car. It is worth maybe 14k now and I still owe about 20k ... .I feel as if I am never going to get out of this loan. I need help and am struggling to pay this ... it usually is between food or car.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, my car was totaled in an accident. The insurance company paid the balance of the value of the car around {$7000.00} In XX/XX/2019, I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX to file a claim under Gap coverage to pay off the balance of what my insurance would not cover. Constantly called Ally Financial the lien holder for several weeks. Recently, I called and asked did XXXX XXXX pay off the remaining balance of the car. They would not give me any information. I informed that I tried to access my Ally Financial account online and it says that my account was closed. I recently learned from my credit report that XXXX XXXX did not pay off the full balance that was covered under the Gap insurance and Ally is billing me about {$2700.00} to pay this debt without letting me know it existed before they put it on my credit report as a balance owed. They never explained to me why or how they derived at this figure. Neither company could explain where this figure comes from and why am I obligated to pay it at {$410.00} a month. I no longer own the car, it was signed over to my insurance company back in XXXX.
