Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: I am the co-signer for 3 commercial vehicles through ALLY. The company that the vehicles were financed through filled for bankruptcy in early XXXX, and Ally closed our account and removed access from their payment portal shortly thereafter we must assume. When we tried to make the XXXX payment, we encountered the account closed and portal access removed. We immediately called Ally and were given a set of instructions to mail three separate payments to a PO Box , which we did. 31 days after or so in XXXX, we received a notification from my credit monitoring service that I had three late payments. ALLY claims that they never received a payment, while I spoke to the customer service person, before transferring me to the bankruptcy department, and she said that it was never processed as the account was closed. We never received any communication from Ally that our payment wasn't received or a process for payment, as the co-signer, while the bankruptcy was taking place. ALLY reported it to my personal credit as the co-signer without any communication to me. As soon as we found out that the payment wasn't processed, we immediately made a double payment through the bankruptcy department and set up a bank auto pay, to keep tabs of any future activity.

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with fees charged
Consumer Complaint: I currently have an auto loan with Ally Financial. I am near the end of my loan and am ready to pay-off the loan. Now that I am ready to pay-off my loan, Ally has added late-fees to my loan. These 'late fees ' began in XXXX thru current. However, these fees never showed in the current balance due. When I contacted Ally for an explanation of these fees and why they were never included in my current balance due they said that as a convenience to their customers they put the late fees on the end of the loan. But as a customer it would have been easier for me to pay any late fees when I paid my car note each month instead of them accumulating any late fees thru the life of my loan and sticking them onto the end of my loan. I called Ally on XX/XX/XXXX in an attempt to pay-off my loan but the pay-off amount given online was not the same as the pay-off amount given my the CSR I spoke with at Ally. I requested that the late fees be waived since my current balance due never reflected any late fees and they Ally said that you can only request that late fees be waived once over the life of the loan and I exhausted that request in XX/XX/XXXX. But I was unaware that I had late fees so how could I request that my late fees be waived when I was unaware of any late fees on my loan? Also, my payment history shows several months of over payment of my loan but the over payment amount was never applied to the 'late fees ' on the loan.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased my vehicle in XX/XX/17. After it was totaled I pulled the contract and reviewed it. Line D - amount {$690.00} is the gap Contract and H - {$3300.00} is the XXXX Comp Contract which includes the gap insurance. I am charged for gap coverage twice. Additionally, I did not have the correct coverage for insurance. The lienholder did not ensure proper insurance coverage was on the vehicle. The car had gap coverage and I thought it had full coverage.

Consumer Complaint: I have a 28 year good standing credit report, not a single missed payment - until : 4 years ago I started a lease with Ally XXXX and I paid the original payment through their web portal. After the payment I signed up so that the bank information was taken over for ACH. Ally must have had a technical problem with their web interface at the time, because the initial ACH didn't work. The company immediately filed a missed payment on my credit report. I have not missed a single payment after the setup incident, I bought even out the car, all without a problem. But neither 3 1/2 years ago nor now, did my request for removal of the credit report fall on open ears with Ally XXXX, who are on the Internet found with many complaints of similar nature. Ally is in the business of destroying their customers even for faults that they generated. I would like to get this resolved. regards XXXX
