Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2010 I contacted AES to payoff my student loan and was told by the AES representative that settlement payoff amount was {$6100.00}. I paid that amount and after two years I started receiving monthly statements again from AES and contacted them. The AES agent told me they would review and that I was all set. Another few years passed and once again I started receiving the statements and again I contacted AES. I spoke to this particular agent multiple times with her also telling me the account was paid off. Today again I'm getting statements and now late fees for a remaining balance of {$1600.00} that has since increased to {$2200.00} over the 5 months waiting for action from AES. It was my understanding and still is that this account was paid off in 2010. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments
Consumer Complaint: I have been consistently paying on my student loan from XXXX XXXX for several years. I have applied for numerous teacher forgiveness programs [ Title One School, Income Driven, and all the other ones offered to me ], only to find out that for one reason or another, I did not qualify ; however, one of the programs required a copy of my income tax return. Although I did not qualify for that specific loan, I was told that my payment would not be increased [ very strange since I file jointly with my husband, and now my payment was increasing ]. When I asked about the increase, I was told they miscalculated my loan... how could this be, since I had been paying the same amount for years? I specifically asked is the increase was due to my submitting my joint income tax return? Athough they denied it, I can not think of any other reason why they would all of a sudden increase my payment after several years. I am paying 1/3 of my salary and can not afford the increase. I email them every month stating that I am not able to include the increase as my husband is retired and on a fixed income, to which they suggest I again apply for one of their Teacher Forgiveness Loans. I am almost XXXX years old and do not plan on working another 10 years. If I continue to make my monthly [ the lower rate that I've been making ], I will be XXXX years old when the loan is paid off ... but it will never be paid off because I am already $ XXXXbehind from the increased amount. I NEED HELP! What can I do?

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX-They continuously lose paperwork. I have had to re-send things several times. Customer service does not seem to understand how to resolve issues. They really seem to have no idea what is going on at all times. They did not process my Public Service Loan forgiveness information. It is 5 months later and received an email that I don't have it and it lapsed. So I no longer have Public Service Student Loan forgiveness and they seem to refuse to work with me.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. In XXXX when I was accepted into the program my loan was transferred from XXXX to XXXX XXXX. I never received any correspondence in the mailing stating the change or that I was even accepted into the program. Last week I received a notice from XXXX XXXX stating my student loans were behind 120 days with XXXX XXXX. So I called them to see what this was referring to because I was under the impression I was still with XXXX. I was told about the consolidation and transfer of the loan. And that they were sending my correspondences to an old email address because when I had XXXX XXXX back in 2013 I was signed up for paperless notifications. I was never notified that I needed to reapply for my Income Driven Repayment Plan which doesn't come up for re certification until XXXX with XXXX. So my credit was hit very hard because I wasn't properly notified.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I submitted a complaint in XXXX regarding incorrect information being report to credit bureaus by AES. Here is my original complaint : y credit report shows 7 late payments for my student loans with the Loan Servicer AES. 6 of the late payments from XXXX were incorrectly reported as these late payment dates were during times when my account was in forbearance. Therefore, none of these late payments should have been reported to the 3 credit bureaus. I contacted AES on XX/XX/XXXX and the call lasted from XXXX - XXXX ET. A representative provided me with my forbearance time periods. After review of the dates, I realized they were during the same times as the late payments that have been reported. Here is part of AES response to the CFPB complaint : Based on this review, corrected information was sent to the consumer reporting agencies to which the information was previously reported for loans one and two for the months of XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I spoke with a rep from PHEAA Office of Consumer advocacy on XX/XX/XXXX and he stated request was sent to credit bureaus on XX/XX/XXXX to have the 6 late payments from XXXX removed. Credit bureaus have stated no request was ever sent by AES or PHEAA. I need this 6 incorrect late payments removed as they are hindering from moving forward with the home buying process.
