Issue: Problem when making payments

Subissue: You never received your bill or did not know a payment was due

Consumer Complaint: I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report and found 120 days late payment on the dates XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and 150 days late payment on the dates XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. I am not sure how this happened, I believe that I had made my payments to you when I received my statements. My only thought is that my monthly statement did not get to me.

Consumer Complaint: Student loan was initially through XXXX. I had applied for student loan forgiveness. The account is apparently still active as I still have a balance of XXXX dollars and I still have a payment due as of XX/XX/13. This is unacceptable.

Subissue: Need information about your loan balance or loan terms

Consumer Complaint: I reached out to American Education Services ( AES ) on XX/XX/2019 to get copies of my payment history on all of my student loans. I am being sued for {$8400.00} by a different carry, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, for a loan I confirmed I made payments on through American Education Services. I talk to a representative on XX/XX/2019 at AES and they said they had to mail me the transcripts. After 2 weeks, I still had not received the transcripts. I reached out again to AES and a gentleman named XXXX told me the system showed that the transcripts of my payment history were mailed. To this date, I still have not received my payment history from AES. I need this information in order to prove to the current company suing me that I have made payments.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I called Fedloan my servicer to discuss my pending application for renewal. The letter stated it was pending. When I spoke to the lady at customer service she stated it was approved and gave me my new payment amount. She did not state that my deferment was over although I had asked for a 2 month one and she said I was approved. I then removed access to my bank account so they could not take out the auto payment just to be safe. They still did on the 9th without my authorization. This is an illegal access to my bank account and misinformation given to me. No solution

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: InXX/XX/XXXX my loans were transferred to Fed Loan Servicing ( PHEAA ), as I am working towards public service loan forgiveness. It took nearly a year for them to process and verify my payments, which only was completed after I filed a complaint with the CFPB. I received a letter in XX/XX/XXXX with the list of payments made. There were six payments that I disputed. For five different payments ( XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX ) I was within a qualified employment window and had bank statements showing a withdrawl, yet they weren't counted. For another payment, it was pulled from my bank account XX/XX/XXXX, posted to my bank account XX/XX/XXXX, which was a Saturday. I had my last day at one qualified employer on XX/XX/XXXX and started a new qualified employment XX/XX/XXXX. Fed Loan claimed I was 'unemployed ' during that payment, even though it was pulled from my account on XX/XX/XXXX, while I was in a qualifying employment. I submitted a letter disputing these six payments that were not counted towards my loan forgiveness despite being in qualified employment and proving the plans were made. This letter, along with supporting documentation, was sent via certified mail XX/XX/XXXX. I verified a few weeks later that it was received and was informed by customer service at Fed Loan Servicing that it would take up to a year or beyond to be reviewed. I sent a second letter via certified mail XX/XX/XXXX requesting an update on the dispute letter and readjustment to my number of payments made. I was informed this was not available to be reviewed and there was no supervisor or any other staff member I could talk to. Additionally, during this time I started school. I was put into a school based deferment in XX/XX/XXXX. I called immediately and completed paperwork XX/XX/XXXX to waive deferment. I was told at that time that if I wanted to continue to count payments towards PSLF that I should keep making payments as scheduled and they would be retroactively applied. I made payments XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX for the full amount of what was due. When I spoke with Fed Loan in XX/XX/XXXX I was informed they had not gone back and applied those two payments that I made on deferral to my qualifying payments. Now, instead of being eligible for loan forgiveness in XX/XX/XXXX, they are stating I will not be eligible until XX/XX/XXXX. I would like the payments I made while in qualifying employment to be applied appropriately. I am attaching the original dispute letter from XX/XX/XXXX, along with the payment documentation. I'm also enclosing the other complaint letter from XX/XX/XXXX.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: I had student loans that i thought were set up on a payment schedule or that i would receive a bill notifying me when they were due. Unbeknownst to me i had to set up an account and set up payment without ever being notified. When i finally did get notified in the mail that i was late on a payment i set up the account for automatic payment immediately. I had no idea that i had late payment history on my credit report until recently when i applied for a home loan. I have tried to correct the late payment history with the student loan company but have not success. I had no idea that a payment was even due until they notified me and i paid it immediately.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: my account have been on forbearance because I was in a divorce situation and had no job and subsequently moved to where I am now.. I was challenging for me to resettle and start finding job. Sometime, I hardly able to pay my phone bill and my phone had to be off for couple of days. Most of these times, I informed Fed loan of my inability to pay my loan. With this thought in mind, I feel I should have no delinquent remarks on my Credit report and I am requesting kindly your intervention in resolving my credit report issue.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan

Consumer Complaint: I am currently working a XXXX which qualifies me for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. The first issue I'm having is it's been two years of FedLoan reviewing my case to award me credit for back months of credit toward the Public Service Loan Forgiveness. My second issue is that I recently filed Chapter XXXX Bankruptcy and sent them the paperwork that my student loans were left out of my bankruptcy so I can continue to be on the payment plan to receive credit toward the Public Service Loan forgiveness. The company sent a letter to my bankruptcy attorney after refusing to discuss the issue with me stating I could make payments but they would not apply toward the Public Service Loan Forgivenss program because I am in bankruptcy and they can not bill me. My attorney is saying when a lender is left out of the bankruptcy they can bill you. I would like to have my credit go toward my Public Service Loan Forgiveness that I qualify for. This is absolutely ridiculous that I can't receive the credit. I was receiving the credit and my payments was XXXX. Please help me get the credit I deserve. I will be in bankruptcy for 5 years working this plan. That is over half the time needed to qualify for forgiveness. I will come out of bankruptcy still facing {$80000.00} in student loan debt.
