Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Don't agree with the fees charged

Consumer Complaint: I attended XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX for 2 semesters signing loans with XXXX XXXX. Then it was taken over by XXXX XXXX. For almost 5years they kept sending me Forbearance forms to put a hold on my payments for every six months. A few years after that XXXX took over and by XX/XX/XXXX my total debt had climbed too a tremendous amount of over {$82000.00}. I qualified to lower my payments with the IDR Program but after 6yrs now the balance had not decreased. XX/XX/XXXX FedLoan took over my loan because I am on the Forgiveness Program that after 120 months of payments FedLoan will forgive the rest of the balance. I am awaiting to get a respond from them.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: Account # XXXX I recently filed a complaint about me not receiving credit toward PSLF due to being in Chapter XXXX bankruptcy. My FedLoan is in bankruptcy status even though my student loans was not included in the filing of the bankruptcy. The response I received from my previous complaint stated " Because you previously stated that your Direct Consolidation Loan should not have been included in the bankruptcy process, we are responding to your concerns, in general, until the documentation required to end the status is received. " I provided documentation XX/XX/2019. I uploaded the document in the drop box of FedLoan. I am going to attach it to this complaint as well as a screen shot from the trustee website.

Consumer Complaint: I have been in PSLF-eligible payments since XXXX of XXXX. FEDloan is documenting only 48 qualified payments out of 82 ( 12 payments in each of XXXX plus 10 payments in XXXX so far ). I have always had PSLF-qualified loans AND payment plans. I have submitted employment eligibility regularly over the years, and that is documented in my accounts.

Consumer Complaint: I have requested FedLoan to look into all my payments and to see which qualify for income and loan forgiveness. Seems to me they're dragging their feet. I've been a long forcement since XXXX end is XXXX I should have one more year left but they're telling me since I wasn't under the program I don't qualify even though I can prove that I've been in love working XXXX why shouldn't matter that I wasn't under the program?

Consumer Complaint: I periodically have to have my university file paperwork with Fedloan servicing to prove Im taking graduate courses and am eligible for loans deferment. While I understand they need proof, in the time it takes them to process the request, my loans accrue interest that I have to pay and they dont reverse it, even if they were informed of my classes starting at an earlier date. Most recently, however, after my school filed the paperwork, they placed my subsidized loans into forbearance when they should be in deferment. Theyre illegally charging me interest on my loans. Their customer service and response times are HORRIBLE. I feel helpless when dealing with them and they know theres nothing I can do about it. Its easier to just pay the interest but its infuriating to know they get away with this. I can only imagine how much they profit off of illegally collecting interest when individuals like me are eligible to not pay interest. They really need to be investigated and held accountable!
